Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and, if you are anything like me, you may already be planning your outfit for the day. Whether you're in a relationship, or simply celebrating Galentine’s with a nice night out with your friends, these outfit ideas will guarantee that you'll be the most stylish person in the room. To make it even better, these looks are also wearable for the rest of the year. Here are 5 vintage inspired outfits for Valentine’s Day- for every activity!

#1- Casual Date outfit

Whether it be a picnic, coffee date, or a stroll around the park, sometimes it's just worthwhile to have a cute and practical outfit in your rotation. The one I've styled for you today has some definite influences from the 50s, so if you like playful looks, this one is for you! For max comfiness, I'd recommend starting with a flowy, off the shoulder peasant blouse. Ideally, this should be in a soft, comfortable fabric, such as worn cotton. As far as the color goes, I would opt for a subtle pink "seashell" shade.

Next, you're going to throw on some high waisted white (or off-white, depending on your preferences) capri pants. Make sure your capris fit correctly and are not uncomfortably tight. Accessorize with a wide waist belt, red kitten heels/flats, and a cute little heart bag! For an authentic touch, you can even add a hair scarf to protect your perfectly curled tresses from the wind. Top the whole look off with a corresponding red lipstick, and you're all good to go!

#2: The Mod Look

This next look is perfect for a girl’s night out. Take some inspiration from the 60's, and wear a mod look this year!

The decade was known for its wild colors and patterns, which makes it perfect for a Valentine’s look! Try to find a fun heart print or abstract pattern for the dress. This one from Unique Vintage would be perfect for this outfit.

Layer some sheer white tights underneath the dress and add some red Mary Janes. To complete the look, style your hair in a Bubble Flip or an updo and add a cute red bow!

Outfit #3:

The Formal One

Time to go back to the 70s! For this look, we are going to start off with a red sleeveless jumpsuit. The cut-outs and interesting neckline of this jumpsuit level up the look a bit, but any halter neckline will do. The convenient thing about this look is that the jumpsuit is already a full outfit, so all we need to do from this point is accessorize! One cute idea would be to grab a white sash of some sort and tie it around your waist. Pair this with your favorite clutch, some silver heels, and a voluminous blowout for that extra 70s feel (do not forget your hot rollers). Now you are officially ready for any fancy restaurant date you may attend.

Outfit #4: Cozy Movie Date

Whether you are headed to the theatre or just plan to snuggle up at home, this outfit is guaranteed to keep you looking cute and feeling cozy. My main inspiration for this look was Rachel Green and her iconic 90s style!

To start off this look, put on a white mock neck sweater. Next, we will layer on some sheer tights (most colors will do) and a black pinafore dress. Add some knee-high boots as well. To make this fit for the occasion, add some red heart pins to the pinafore and finish the look off with a small red baguette bag. Another optional step is to rock a red choker, to make the look even more 90s.

Bonus points for layered hair!

With that in mind, those are all of the looks I have put together today! I had so much fun creating these looks; Valentines Day is, without a doubt, one of the cutest holidays. The vibrant color palette, heart motifs, and everything to do with love makes it one of the most iconic days of the year in my opinion.

By the way, in case anybody was wondering, I just used the ShopLook app to create all of these moodboards. Canva is also good for creating collages and adding little extra details.

I hope some of you out there were able to get outfit inspiration from this post. If you do, let me know which look was your favorite. Personally, I would love to wear the 90s inspired one. Tag me over on my Instagram page @aprils.vintage.muses if you try any of these outfits!
